Effective 4th February 2018, all the applicants traveling to UAE for the employment purpose have to submit their Police Clearance Certificate (Legalised) to UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a mandatory document. Individuals, who have stayed either in their home country or other countries in the past five years, must produce a certificate of good conduct (Police Clearance / Criminal Record Check Certificate) before applying for a job or work visa in UAE. On receipt of the Police Clearance Certificate, the document needs to be legalized by UAE Missions and then it needs to be processed by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
This process will be applicable only for new work visas filed after 4th Feb 2018. At this stage, there is no clarity on other types of Visas (like Mission or Medical Visa) and the dependent accompanying the Principal applicant (on employment). TTK recommends its clients to check with their counterparts in UAE for further clarity on other types of Visas.
TTK & its representatives consulted the UAE Mission officials in India and understood that Applicant’s Employment Contract documents or Visa Copy will be required to perform the attestation on the Police Clearance Certificate. We have explained the practical challenges and requested the Diplomats to discuss within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in UAE regarding the supporting document.
We will closely monitor the developments and keep you updated on the subject matter.
